KEC, the Aldermaston-based design and manufacturing company that specialises in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) interconnect components and systems, is showing a comprehensive range of connector backshells, bulkhead fittings and glands, EMC conduit products and cable harness assemblies on Stand S5-250.  KEC EMC products offer the highest levels of protection up to and including TEMPEST.

KEC products have and are being used by BAE, Ultra, Lockheed, Cobham Group, Bombardier, GKN Aerospace and other major defence and aerospace companies on various fast jet, helicopter, missile land systems, naval and other programmes.

The company also introduces an EMC interconnect computer test simulation system that will save time and cost in designing and manufacturing EMC wiring harnesses and assemblies.

The system, designed in conjunction with the University of Reading on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme, will enable KEC to design and build EMC assemblies and cable harnesses and simulate the EMC characteristics of these systems.  This will enable overall pieces of equipment needing EMC interconnection assemblies and harnesses to be designed ‘right first time’ and save expensive redesigning and retesting prior to certification.

About KEC

Based in Aldermaston, Berkshire, KEC designs and manufactures a range of standard EMC backshells, bulkhead glands, panel fittings and conduit systems.  Bespoke designs can be supplied.  The company also designs and supplies wiring and cable harness assemblies and provides a box kitting service.

In addition to an extensive product range, KEC has a wealth of experience to help overcome any EMC challenges and has been at the forefront of EMC interconnect technology since the company was formed in 1979.
